echoes of fireworks,
the buzzing of a fly
trapped on the inside of my window pane
the sounds of a summer night
waft through the screen
the breeze so soft,
holding on its breath the fragrance of petunia
leaves blackened against
deep sea blue of sky,
which is not the sea but is of the sea,
as the sea is of it, and on and on in perpetuity
